School Visits

We are delighted to welcome school visits between mid March and October half term each year. Over the years we have worked with the Devon Wildlife Trust and the RSPB to create a unique educational environment for visiting school children.

Seasonal information boards designed by the RSPB, give children a wonderful chance to identify the abundance of woodland birds, ducks and geese seen on their walks at Canonteign Falls. Working closely with Devon Wildlife Trust, our nature and wildlife trail designed especially for children is the perfect way for them to learn about wildlife and conservation techniques. Our 2m giant metal spider and bug made for us by local craftsman Barrie Darling add to the experience!

We also offer:

  • Bee garden in our orchard
  • Information boards
  • Historically themed play area and a mini assault course
  • Victorian Fern Garden
  • Café

We suggest you plan for a 3-hour experience although you are obviously free to structure your visit to suit your own particular aims. We are happy to provide advice on suggested activities, including team-building activities around our Children’s Trail.
