Exploring the Exeter and District Model Boat Club at Canonteign Falls

Since 2013, Canonteign Falls has proudly hosted the Exeter and District Model Boat Club, a group with a rich history dating back to 1980. The club brings together enthusiasts of all ages, with a shared passion for radio-controlled model boats, whether they be electric, steam-powered, or classic yachts.

Throughout the summer, the club invites children to get hands-on with their charity model boat, offering a fun and interactive experience. What’s more, the small fee for this activity goes directly to supporting the Devon Air Ambulance, combining fun with a meaningful contribution to a local cause.

In 2024, the club unveiled a charming harbour along the bank of Lily Lake. This picturesque addition allows visitors to watch the boats dock and sail, adding an extra layer of charm to the experience. You can catch these beautiful scenes every Wednesday, Friday, Sunday, and Bank Holiday—perfect for a family day out by the water!
