We are thrilled to introduce this year’s winner of the Artist in residence as Plymouth College of Art graduate Mark Davey.  Mark’s love of art started when he was in pre school but only truly became his focus more recently when his wife persuaded him to go to  Art College later in life. Having graduated with a (BA) Hons in Painting, Drawing and Printmaking he is now looking forward to spending the summer at the Canonteign Falls estate in the Teign Valley where he will take inspiration from the beautiful countryside and rich biodiversity of nature the Falls provides to complete a piece of work which will be unveiled at a gala evening on 27thSeptember. To register interest in this event and for a guest invitation please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

During the hours he is spending at Canonteign Falls over the summer he welcomes questions and conversation as you can watch his work evolve.  Follow him on our social media: Facebook @canonteignfalls  Twitter @canonteignfall and Instagram @Canonteign Falls

As a mixed media artist, Mark uses different mediums such as oils, charcoal and acrylics for his work. He enjoys countryside walks, often with a sketchbook in hand. Many of his pieces are directly influenced by these sketches of nature, as an artist he strives to bring an emotional presence to landscapes and wildlife in his work.
