Devon Wildlife Trust 'Forest Garden'The Forest Garden at Canonteign Falls has been created by local volunteers guided by the Devon Wildlife Trust's gardening expert, John Hayward. It forms part of a series of wildlife demonstration gardens around Devon educating people in the importance of gardens as vital habitats for wildlife. John Hayward, Devon Wildlife Trust's Community Biodiversity Officer, explains: “The Forest Garden at Canonteign is an amazing place that aims to help people to understand more about woodland wildlife.” Nature and Wildlife TrailOur nature and wildlife trail provides the perfect way for children to learn about wildlife and conservation techniques and is a fascinating space for young environmentalists. The recent addition of a 2 metre giant metal spider, housed in its own web, made by local craftsman Barrie Darling has already caused quite a stir! Wildlife Walks and Lakes
Working together with the Devon Wildlife Trust, our Dartmoor wildlife habitat is being maintained and improved. Our three nature walks of varying lengths cover a huge range of wildlife habitat, with views over open countryside, resting points, and Devon Wildlife Trust information boards. In addition we are working together with the Devon Wildlife Trust to manage our lakes sustainably. Our Devon Wildlife Trust information boards examine the extraordinary dragonflies and damselflies that have made our lakes in Devon their natural habitat. |
