The Secret Garden

A secret garden conjures up all sorts of images in one's mind.  An open door in a wall, a tiny hidden corner where you can sit and listen to the birds without being disturbed.

Our secret garden changes dramatically with the seasons and is always dominated by the flow of the water coming down the stream. In winter torrents of water crash over the rocks and water drips heavily from the overhanging rocks creating an eerie feel. In contrast, during the summer months, the deep shade and cooling waters make the secret garden a quiet and peaceful spot.

This location was the current Lord Exmouth's most favourite area of Canonteign Falls.  New planting and restoration work is underway to enhance an already magical place.
