Environmental

We work closely with environmental organisations like the Devon Wildlife Trust to maintain and conserve the 80 acres of outstanding parkland as a vital habitat for plants and wildlife.

Devon Wildlife Trust, together with local volunteers have created a Forest Garden at the Waterfalls, providing a fascinating place for young people and adults alike to learn about plants and creatures and their bio-diverse environment.

John Hayward, Devon Wildlife Trust's Community Biodiversity Officer, has had a large input into the project stating that, “The Forest Garden at Canonteign is an amazing place that aims to help people understand more about woodland wildlife.”

All around Canonteign Falls, gentle pathways guide you through many species of irises, orchids and rare plants while the Wetland Nature Reserve lakeside walk makes the perfect setting for spotting kingfishers, otters, dragonflies and butterflies.
